A night of cello music

Nau mai, hoki mai and welcome back !!!

We thoroughly enjoyed last night's performance by the Canterbury Cellists.  I'm pleased we managed to get into the city in plenty of time.  Nothing like being too rushed nē rā?  It was nice to get in early, find good seats and make ourselves comfortable.

The acoustics in St Luke's Anglican Church is perfect for the likes of last night's concert.  The ensemble entertained us with wonderful pieces from Vivaldi, Bach and loads more.

The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were amazed at the speed of the cellists hands to manipulate their instruments.

In all seriousness, $15 for an adult with children free .... I just have to say it's so rare these days to get such a treat for so little.  I'm sure the children who came from Tauranga to join the ensemble for a segment must have felt quite exhilirated to share such a moment with them.  They really did themselves (their tutor - who also played) very proud indeed.
Tamāhine 1 came up with a very good idea for reusing the concert tickets - bookmarks.  Golly, why didn't I think of that? :-)

Thanks to Elizabeth for organising the evening.

Thanks for dropping by
